Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will promote the inclusion of all our students, working for 30 hours per week (8.30am-3pm), 39 working weeks per year (school term time plus 1 week).

You will have a genuine passion and belief in the potential of every pupil and be able to relate to young people and adults within the learning environment and be versatile, resilient and able to adapt your practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages.

In liaison with the class teacher, you will work with students to target identified learning needs. You will also provide practical support in the classroom to students who have recognised learning needs, supporting them to achieve their potential. In addition, you will work with subject teachers to ensure lesson materials are used effectively in order for students to make the expected progress towards their target levels.

  • join a team of teaching assistants, promoting inclusion and supporting teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of students under the direction of teaching staff and may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan.
