8.30am-3.30pm

39 weeks per year (including INSETs), 32.5 hours per week

Whitehouse Primary School is seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in a blended role of 1:1 support work and small group work.

This rewarding position involves working closely with a child in Upper Key Stage 2, providing personalised support to help them access learning, develop independence and thrive within the classroom environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the class teacher and Inclusion team to ensure the child receives consistent, high-quality support tailored to their individual needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children with additional needs (Communication and Interaction and Social, Emotional and Mental Health), ideally in a primary school setting.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Communication and Interaction needs.
  • Can adopt relational practice and a trauma informed approach
  • Is patient, resilient and able to respond calmly and flexibly to changing situations.
  • Can adapt learning activities and use appropriate strategies to support engagement and progress.
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues, parents and other professionals.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
