Whitehouse Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and skilled Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a thriving, inclusive school with a strong community spirit and a commitment to high standards for all pupils. We are looking for someone who has a strong background in working with children in the early years of their education, and who also has experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The successful will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and build confidence in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

This role involves working closely with class teachers to support the learning, development and wellbeing of pupils, with a particular focus on children with additional needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group support for pupils with SEN across the early years.
  • Contribute to a high-quality, inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement, independence, and progress
  • Use early childhood development knowledge to support children’s learning and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCo and external professionals
  • Support with planning, delivering and assessing learning activities, tailored to individual needs
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support every child’s development


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children in the early stages of education
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEN strategies and inclusive practices
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Supporting Teaching & Learning
  • A warm, caring and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of all children
