Teaching Assistant job summary

The Trustees at Victorious Academies Trust would like to appoint a Teaching Assistant Level 1 at Discovery Academy, Porlock Avenue, Hattersley. SK14 3LE.

To start: 1st September 2025 to April 2026 or on the return of the postholder

Teaching Assistant Level 1 Full-time Salary £24,790 - £25,183

This is temporary, part-time, 30 hours per week, Term Time Only with an actual salary of £17,678 - £17,959 (TMBC Grade C, Points 5-6)

Working hours would be Monday- Friday 8:45 – 3:15, with 30 mins for lunch

Are you currently a Teaching Assistant with a Level 1 qualification?

Would you like to work as a TA1 for 30hrs per week supporting SEND children?

If so, this temporary position could be of interest.

We need a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to work in our KS1 team, providing support to SEND children.

The successful candidate should be able to offer:

• Level 1 childcare qualifications or equivalent experience

• Experience of working in a school setting with a focus on 1:1 support of pupils

• Experience of working with high need SEND pupils

• Ability to work in a team

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Willingness to contribute to the full life of the school

• Evidence of going the extra mile for our pupils

• Flexibility of working hours with the opportunity for occasional overtime if required by the Academy
