Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for two Teaching Assistants who care about providing both academic and nurture support in class for our wonderful children. Your role will be to work as part of a supportive team to enhance the teaching and learning opportunities for pupils, particularly those with additional learning needs. Relevant experience supporting SEND children in a school or childcare setting is desirable but if you feel you have the right qualities for the role and are keen to learn, we would love to hear from you. If you have energy, kindness, patience and enthusiasm, we can offer you an exciting opportunity where you can truly make a difference each day.

We have two roles available:

  • One working Monday to Friday from 8.40am to 3.15pm, including a one hour unpaid lunch break, 27.9 hours per week over 38.6 weeks per annum
  • One working 3 days per week from 8.40am to 3.15pm, including a one hour unpaid lunch break, 16.74 hours per week over 38.6 weeks per annum

The successful candidate will:

  • be able to motivate and inspire our children to achieve their best in all areas of learning and behaviour;
  • be committed to inclusion, high expectations and raising standards;
  • be excellent communicators with good organisational and personal skills; and
  • be enthusiastic about contributing to the wider life of the school.

In return we can offer you:

  • the opportunity to work with an exceptional team of staff who are committed to the success and welfare of every child in our Trust;
  • opportunities for professional growth both within the school and the wider Greensand Multi Academy Trust
  • an excellent staff assistance scheme with access to a range of wellbeing and health initiatives, including complimentary counselling, physiotherapy and a 24-hour online GP service
  • membership of a generous Local Government Pension Scheme

Further information about the school can be found on our website. Candidates are also warmly invited to contact the school to discuss the role in more depth.

Dovers Green School's pupil admission numbers will be reducing over the next few years following the decision to change the school from a three form entry school to a one form entry school. Accordingly, staffing numbers will be reducing to reflect the lower number of children in attendance. This role is therefore being offered on a time bonded contract for the 2026/27 academic year only.

Applications will be considered upon receipt, and we reserve the right to appoint someone sooner than this if we identify a suitable candidate. You are therefore encouraged to apply for the role as soon as possible.

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of our Trust. We strive to create a diverse and inclusive environment and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you need any specific support or require alternative formats, please contact us.
