Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Bannerman Road Community Academy, supporting children to achieve their full potential in a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality classroom support, helping pupils to develop academically, socially and emotionally. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people within a welcoming school community that values respect, aspiration and excellence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the learning and development of pupils both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging learning activities and help pupils achieve their individual learning goals.
  • Provide additional support for pupils with varying educational, emotional and social needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities.

Pay range:

  • SCP 5 - 7 £19,631.06 - £20,260.24
  • FTE - £26,427.00 - £27,274.00
  • 31.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
  • Permanent

Qualifications and Skills:

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • TA qualification or relevant experience of working with children and young people.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • An understanding of child development and how children learn.
