Teaching Assistant – Early Years Support job summary

Hours/Pay:

From £13.26 per hour (DSAT Grade 3)

30 hours per week.

8.30am - 3pm (Term time only, Mon - Fri)

Main Responsibilities:

Follow planning and targets from Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support plans.

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children.

Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.

Implement a speech and language programme as directed.

Operate in the role of an Early Years Practitioner, supporting both groups and individual children.

Engage children in outside duties and lead play activities.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent is essential).

Experience working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is desirable.

Compassionate and committed to supporting SEND children.

Strong patience and reflective practices.

High expectations for children’s success and development.

Desirable:

Experience with play-based learning approaches.
