The governors are looking to appoint an EYFS / KS1 Teaching Assistant Hevingham Primary School. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. Under the guidance of teaching staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for groups of EYFS /KS1 pupils and will be expected to teach small phonics groups, be responsible for assessing pupil’s progress and achievement throughout the year and support the wellbeing/SEMH of the class. Hours of work, Monday 1.00-3.45pm and Tuesday 8.15am–12 noon.

You will join a friendly and committed staff team in a good teaching and learning environment. There will be opportunities for professional development training. We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants who are interested in career progression.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of the curriculum for EYFS / KS1 children.
  • Experience of planning and being responsible for children in EYFS / KS1
  • Experience of assessment in EYFS / KS1
  • Excellent phonic knowledge

Qualifications/Training

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • GCSE in English and Maths
  • Desirable – evidence of post GCSE qualifications, paediatric first aid training, use of Tapestry  

Practical skills

  • ICT literate
  • Experience/ knowledge of running interventions- i.e. Numicon, Rapid Phonics, Catch Up
  • Behaviour management experience/training
  • Willingness to run clubs after school

Personal qualities and attributes

  • Creativity and initiative to create resources and plan exciting, practical and meaningful learning experiences for primary children.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and be flexible.
  • A commitment to working in partnership with parents.
