Lakenham Primary and Nursery School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will bring strong communication skills, a warm and friendly approach, and a high level of professionalism. You will be able to relate well to both children and adults and understand the importance of your role in supporting the learning experience of all pupils.

This position may be based within EYFS or in our SEND specialist room supporting autistic, predominantly non-verbal children, depending on the successful applicant’s skills and experience. We welcome applicants who feel confident working within either of these environments.

We are looking for a reliable, well organised individual with excellent timekeeping, adaptability, and a caring nature – and, most importantly, someone with a sense of humour. We would prefer to appoint a graduate or an experienced Teaching Assistant who demonstrates strong standards in literacy, numeracy (GCSE grade C or equivalent), and has an understanding of a child centred environment. An understanding of the working Early Foundation Stage curriculum and the ability to help move children’s learning forward is essential. Candidates with experience supporting children within continuous provision are particularly encouraged to apply.

Lakenham Primary and Nursery School is a welcoming and vibrant school within easy reach of central Norwich. To thrive in this role, you will embrace our strong ‘can do culture’, where staff and pupils work together to overcome challenges and ensure that every child enjoys success.

We can offer you a committed, supportive, and enthusiastic staff team within a friendly community—where we genuinely do laugh every day!

If you are interested in this position and would like further information, please contact Mrs Cassandra Williams, Headteacher. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.
