Teaching Assistant (EYFS) job summary

Location: Reydon Primary School, Southwold, Suffolk
Contract: Full Time, Fixed Term (12 months)
Working Pattern: 32.5 hours per week, 38 Weeks (Term Time Only)
Salary: ALT Grade E (£19,240.46 - £20,018.27 Actual)

Supporting early years learning with care, skill and purpose, we are seeking to fill two Level 3 Teaching Assistant positions at Reydon Primary School. These roles sit within our Early Years provision, helping every child get the very best start. Working closely with teachers, the focus is on delivering engaging, well‑adapted learning activities, providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs and nurturing children’s social and emotional development. Together, these posts offer the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to pupils’ progress within a supportive and collaborative school community, where high expectations, inclusion and strong relationships shape everyday practice.

Applicants must be experienced EYFS specialists and hold a relevant Level 3 qualification or above.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and adapt learning activities for individuals and groups, supporting high-quality teaching and pupil progress.
  • Provide specialist support, including for pupils with SEND or additional needs, and contribute to individual development plans.
  • Monitor, record and report on pupil progress, attainment and learning outcomes.
  • Support pupils’ personal, social and emotional development, including welfare and independence.
  • Contribute to a safe, well-resourced learning environment and work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals.
