Teaching Assistant job summary

Creswick Academy is a vibrant, two-form entry school at the heart of our local community and proud to be part of the Agora Learning Partnership. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

About the role

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the class teacher and Senior Leadership Team to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and personal development across the curriculum. This will include:

• Supporting children in achieving lesson objectives in English, Maths and other subjects.

• Providing individual or small group support, including 1:1 intervention programmes.

• Promoting inclusion and supporting children with social, emotional or behavioural needs.

• Assisting with the preparation of learning environments and resources.

• Contributing to the review of pupil progress and maintaining relevant records.

• Supporting pupils during breaks, lunchtimes and on educational visits as required.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a caring, patient and positive approach to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.

• Works effectively as part of a team.

• Understands the importance of safeguarding, inclusion and promoting positive behaviour.

• Has good communication skills with both children and adults.

• Is committed to Creswick’s ethos and values, including our Going for Gold principles.

Experience of supporting children in a school setting and/or an appropriate qualification in childcare or education is desirable but not essential.
