Teaching Assistant job summary

We are seeking to appoint a friendly, energetic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within our successful, creative school. We need someone who has had experience of working with children with additional needs, particularly autism and/or SEMH. Initially, this role will be within a Year 2 classroom.

We are a diverse and inclusive school with a strong commitment to providing quality provision to all children, regardless of need. You will need to be flexibile and work effectively as part of a team.

Our school champions robust career progression, so if you are looking to possibly move into teaching in the future, this could be an first step.

Are you:

  • Caring, reliable and motivated?
  • Organised?
  • A warm and friendly face to children, parents and colleagues?
  • Passionate about learning, resilient and have a sense of humour?
  • Experienced in supporting children within a school setting?
  • Able to work as part of a team (both under teacher direction and, where appropriate, at own initiative)?

We recommend you visit our school in the first instance to get a feel for us! Also, please have a look at our website, including our most recent Ofsted report.

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (1 hour lunch) unless you would like an additional separate contract to cover a 1/2 hour lunch duty.

You are warmly invited to telephone the Headteacher, who will be pleased to discuss the post in more detail.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
