Teaching Assistant job summary

We wish to appoint an outstanding individual to join our happy and positive school supporting a small number of high needs children in the class to assist the class teacher.

Our children are happy and eager to learn, you will be supported by a warm and friendly staff team and offered on-going professional development opportunities.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has high expectations of what children can achieve
  • Can inspire all children including those who have barriers to learning
  • Can work as part of a team

We are looking for someone who ideally:

  • Has a positive ‘can do’ attitude and is able to set clear, firm expectations for behaviour
  • Has good English and Maths, essential to have a L2 qualification in both
  • Is a nurturing, calm and forward-thinking individual
  • Would embrace our school ethos
  • Can communicate well and form positive relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Has a calm, patient approach to supporting the needs of children and can demonstrate a willingness to learn
  • Is flexible and adaptable to situations and willing to work as part of a team
