Teaching Assistant job summary
Fir Tree Junior School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant from September 2022 to join our vibrant and dynamic team of professionals. If you have the energy and drive to make a difference to children’s educational outcomes, we look forward to hearing from you. The successful candidate will be required to fulfil duties to support children’s learning. This will include working closely with the class teacher and creating an environment of learning where the children will thrive in their academic, social and emotional development; preparing resources, setting up for lessons, working with individual and groups of children, some of whom may have Special Educational Needs.
Due to this post having access to children, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record, including family members, may prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.

Fir Tree Junior School is a thriving and growing Junior School, situated in the heart of Wallingford town. The majority of our children join us from our local infant school, St Nicholas, along with a number of children from the surrounding villages. Our annual admission number is 60 and we have two classes per year group. We presently have 225 children on roll.
We take pride in our ethos, which is underpinned by the values of; respect, responsibility, courage, tolerance, friendship and perseverance. The children learn about the importance of values and how values make the person you are.
