Working pattern

Part time: For 2 days a week, the successful candidate will work in a key stage 1 classroom, providing 1:1 supervision and care for a child with ASD. For 1 day a week, the position would be to support the EYFS staff team in the classroom. Further information will be shared with applicants upon request.

We Are Looking For

  • A positive and proactive team member who communicates well and works collaboratively with others.
  • Someone with a good level of literacy and numeracy, who is able to follow teacher direction and support learning with quiet confidence.
  • A flexible, dependable person who always maintains professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Someone who understands the importance of safeguarding and wellbeing in a primary school setting.

Key duties:

  • Work on a 1:1 basis supporting a pupil during teacher-led activities, encouraging independence and active participation.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support social development during learning and break times.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions
  • Monitor, assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment, as agreed with the teacher.
  • Attend to pupil’s personal needs as and when the need arises.
  • Work positively with the EYFS team to promote inclusion and equality and joy!

Knowledge and skills:

Relevant Level 2 qualifications

Experience of working in the primary phase and with SEND children

Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures relevant to child protection and health and safety.
