The role would entail supervising and supporting pupils in the learning environment, whilst assisting the teacher with the implementation of pupil education.
At Great Addington C of E Primary School, we are committed to developing the whole child—emotionally, intellectually, physically, academically, and spiritually. We have a family-feel school, with an emphasis on developing each child’s skills, talents, and confidence. Our highly professional staff team works hard to create lifelong experiences and memories, so that when children leave us, they are well-prepared for secondary school and carry fond memories of their primary years.
We are looking to appoint someone who:
- Is enthusiastic, approachable and friendly
- will ensure all children feel safe, happy and able to learn,
- will create a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment
- will support the teacher in management of pupil behaviour and understands how to tackle challenging behaviour in children with respect and understanding, following the school’s Behaviour Policy.
- is supportive of the ethos of a Church and Trust school.
- understands our children and our community and who is able to build supportive and respectful relationships with children whilst maintaining confidentiality and following the school’s Code of Conduct.
- who is prepared to undertake appropriate CPD to develop their skills including First Aid training and annual Safeguarding / Child Protection training.
- understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare - both at home and in school.
In return, we will offer:
- A supportive environment where contributions and ideas are encouraged, valued and supported.
- Happy and motivated children who are eager to learn.
- A collaborative and supportive school community that is underpinned by the Christian ethos, driven by a shared passion of children’s welfare and education.
- A rewarding working environment, within a supportive and welcoming atmosphere.
- Access to a vast array of employee benefits and recognition systems, via our brand-new partnership with Vivup.
- Employment within one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in the Peterborough Diocese, with wider development, training and career opportunities.

Great Addington C of E Primary is a vibrant and popular school, with committed staff, governors and children. We have an enviable reputation as being the ‘small school’ that gives its children ‘so much.’ We aim to build upon the school's strengths and become an outstanding centre for learning within the community. Our vision for achieving this is through high quality teaching and learning with a commitment to valuing potential in all members of the GA community.
Striving to unlock the talents of all our pupils, we continually challenge them to achieve their best and develop the skills for a lifelong love of learning. It is only through challenge that students truly discover what they are capable of. No matter where we start in life, we recognise that all have the potential to achieve and at Great Addington Primary, we strive to ensure that they do.
At Great Addington, we have recently undergone extensive site works, now offering a modern working environment for staff and children alike, that retains its special magic. Following a successful Ofsted inspection in March 2023, parents and carers could not speak more highly of our school, with one parent, typical of many, commenting ‘The staff and school are wonderful, and everyone contributes to the community feel of this school.’ Staff ensure that they check of pupil’s well-being every morning and pupils enjoy school and the know that staff care for them.
