Teaching Assistant job summary
Holmesdale Community Infant School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and committed EYFS /KS1 Teaching Assistant commence in September 2025. We welcome applications from part time and full time candidates.
You will be supporting the learning of all children, including those with special educational needs, within mainstream classes. We are committed to all our children achieving their full potential across the expanding range of opportunities we offer them. We would like to recruit an individual who will contribute to this ethos and be proactive in moving our school forward.
The successful candidate will:
- have a good level of general educational qualifications
- enjoy working with children and be able to show initiative both in class and group situations
- have an interest in special educational needs
- have an understanding of learning and be able to contribute to assessment and planning
- have high expectations, together with caring attitude and flexibility
- know how to provide the children with a safe and secure environment
In addition you will:
- have lots of energy and patience
- demonstrate good communication skills
- have a positive, hardworking attitude
- be able to work effectively within a committed team of TAs and Teachers
- be committed to inclusion and equality of opportunity
- cover lunch time duties

Exact hours to be confirmed but we may be able to offer a full time, term time position in EYFS, 27 hours per week, across 38 weeks per annum, or a part time position in KS1, four/five mornings, plus lunch duty (term time only). Please get in touch to discuss further. The full time equivalent annual salary is £23,576-24,690 and the pro rata annual salary for 27 hours per week (38 wks / annum) is £14,821-15522.
