What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and committed Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant who:

  • Has proven experience of supporting pupils with SEND using calm, consistent and nurturing approaches.
  • Demonstrates a secure understanding of adaptive teaching and can support the class teacher in adjusting learning to ensure pupils can access the curriculum successfully.
  • Works effectively as part of a team, responding positively to guidance from the class teacher and SENDCo, while also using their own initiative when appropriate.
  • Is confident in delivering structured 1:1 support and leading small group interventions to support academic, social and emotional development.
  • Can prepare resources, adapt materials and contribute to planning to meet individual needs.
  • Is able to observe, record and report on pupil progress, maintaining accurate records to demonstrate impact.
  • Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
  • Shows patience, resilience and a genuine commitment to helping children flourish within a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Is flexible, reflective and willing to contribute fully to the wider life and ethos of our inclusive church school community.
