Teaching Assistant - Level 1 job summary
The Academy Council wish to appoint a highly motivated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team from November 2024.
From 9:30am and 3:30pm, the successful candidate will support teaching and learning in EYFS and KS1. The role will involve working as part of a small team to deliver an individualised package of support to children with additional and complex needs alongside general classroom support. This will include supervision at lunchtime, facilitating a safe, positive dining experience and promoting positive play.
From 3:30 – 5:30pm (5.00pm Friday), the post will involve working in our wraparound care provision including with Nursery.
The successful candidate must have experience of working with children with additional needs, including those with limited communication and those with social and communication difficulties and an awareness of the impact that this can have on children’s presentation and behaviour. Experience of working restoratively with children who have difficulties regulating their behaviour is essential as is the ability to work independently and feedback accurately and concisely to class teachers.
Experience of using communication boards is desirable.
As the post will involve working in EYFS, the successful candidate must also hold a full and relevant qualification to work in Early Years. Please follow the link below to see the list of relevant Early Years qualifications.

GCSE in both English and Mathematics at Grades A-C or the equivalent are also essential. A current first aid certificate is desirable for the post.
