TEACHING ASSISTANT L2 1:1 (SEND/SEMH)

30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (including 5 training days)

Actual Salary: £16,145.00 (Level 2, point 4)

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant Level 2 (1:1 SEND/SEMH) to work in our Specialist SEMH Provision, collaborating with teachers in planning and delivering programmes of teaching and learning activities for children identified as needing 1:1 support.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teachingand learning activities to an individual pupil modifying and adaptingactivities as necessary under the overall direction and supervision of ateacher.
  • Assess, record and report on development, progress andattainment.
  • Liaise with staff and other relevant professionals andprovide information about pupils as appropriate.
  • Use teaching and learning objectives to plan, evaluate andadjust lessons/work plans as appropriate within agreed systems of supervision.
  • Assess the needs of a pupil and use detailed knowledge andspecialist skills to support pupils’ learning.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being,reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
  • Help keep the children safe.
  • Develop and promote positive working relationships withstaff, pupils and parents and promote the school positively at all times.
  • Support the role of parents / carers in pupil learning andcontribute to meetings with parents / carers to provide constructive feedbackon pupil progress/achievement etc.
  • To promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in thelearning activities in which they are involved.
