Following the successful internal promotions of teaching assistants, we are looking to expand our team. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people, who are able to engage with our students. You will be working alongside at least two other teaching assistants so you must be able to work in a team. It is essential that the successful candidate is able to communicate clearly in a calm and respectful manner, be reliable and trustworthy and work within the school’s policies, including safeguarding and child protection. Experience is not necessary but a passion to support children and young people with special educational needs is essential.

The Woodlands School is a specialist provision for children and young people with Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties, all the students have Education, Health and Care Plans as their needs are long term.

Full-time: Posts are for 32.5 hours a week and Term Time Only. Teaching Assistant hours are 8:30-3:25pm Monday-Wednesday, 8:30pm-4:00pm Thursday and 8:30-3:15pm Friday term time only.

Please Note: A willingness to take part in swimming is essential as the students take part in swimming as part of the curriculum. You must be over 18 years old to apply.

Teaching Assistant positions may be based at any of our 3 sites depending on the need of the school.

We welcome visits to the school.
