We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking teaching assistant to provide support for teaching and learning in our friendly and inclusive school. The successful candidate will have a clear commitment to promoting the well-being of the children in our care and to raising standards.

St Margaret Clitherow’s Catholic Primary School is part of the Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust, a family of 32 primary schools, and 6 secondary schools. With more than 12,300 pupils and 1,500 plus staff, the Trust is now one of the largest Catholic Multi Academy Trusts in the UK.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • Will promote our friendly Catholic ethos, and will work as part of a committed team.
  • Will be an excellent practitioner with high expectations for children in their care.
  • Can provide tailored support to a child in both the classroom and individual settings.
  • Will have a commitment to inclusion, innovation and creativity
  • Has experience of supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including children on the autistic spectrum.
  • Can work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Can use initiative to adapt approaches in order to support a child’s learning needs.
  • Will contribute towards creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Can support pupils with personal care and physical needs where required.
  • Has the ability to form positive, professional and effective relationships with colleagues across school, other professionals and parents/carers.
