Teaching Assistant Level 2 and Inclusion Officer (Dual Role ) job summary

About the Role:

We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our friendly and supportive primary school. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children learn, grow and achieve their full potential. Working closely with class teachers and other staff, you will support high-quality teaching and learning, helping to create an engaging, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Alongside the Teaching Assistant Level 2 role you will support the school's commitment to inclusion as an Inclusion Officer by working alongside the SENDCo and leaders to ensure that all pupils, particularly those who are vulnerable or require additional support, are able to access learning, achieve success and thrive within the school community. The Inclusion Officer will help coordinate and deliver interventions, support families, maintain accurate records and contribute to the effective implementation of SEND, pastoral and behaviour provision across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching Assistant level 2:

- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.

- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.

- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and resilience.

- Assist in preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment.

- Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND where appropriate.

- Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.

- Observe, monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.

- Supervise pupils during breaktimes, educational visits and other school activities when required.

- Help ensure the safety, wellbeing and welfare of all pupils at all times.

Inclusion Officer:

- Family and Community Engagement

- Administration and record keeping

Total across both roles: 37 hours, 39 weeks per year, Term Time plus INSET days. (Teaching Assistant Level 2: 18,5 hours and Inclusion Officer: 18,5 hours)

Please note pay grades differ between these roles.

Teaching Assistant Level 2: £11,051.48-£11,405.70 Annually - 18.5 hours, 39 weeks per year, Term Time plus INSET days.

Inclusion Officer: £12,156.93 - £12,969.92 Annually - 18.5 hours, 39 weeks per year, Term Time plus INSET days
