What skills and experience we're looking for


  • GCSE Maths and English Grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent.


  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, or relevant experience.


  • Experience of working in a school environment or with young people.


  • Experience of working with students who have complex needs.

  • Experience of supporting students with challenging behaviour.


  • Proficient in the use of ICT.
  • Ability to supervise and assist students.
  • Knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities.
  • Display commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.


  • First aid qualification.
  • Working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.


  • Ability to work under pressure and determination to succeed.
  • Have a patient and understanding attitude towards students with varying academic and emotional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • An ability to work as part of a team.
  • Desire to involve themselves in the wider life of the school.
  • Commitment to improvement and professional development.
  • Patience, resilience and a sense of humour.
