Teaching Assistant Level 2 job summary
The St John Paul II Multi Academy is a highly successful Catholic Multi Academy encompassing eleven Primary Schools and two Secondary Schools. Our schools are located in the northern area of Birmingham, Tamworth and Lichfield.
The ethos of St John Paul II Multi Academy is Catholic and was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families. As a Catholic Multi Academy, we aim to provide a Catholic education for all our pupils. It is essential that the Catholic character of the school’s education be fully supported by all staff within the multi academy. We therefore hope that all staff will give their full, unreserved and positive support for the aims and ethos of the St John Paul II Multi Academy.
We are seeking to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an important post that will help us meet the needs of our growing number of disadvantaged pupils, support intervention and booster groups, and provide assistance to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within the classroom.
The successful candidate will:
- Be confident working with children aged 3 to 11 years.
- Have experience of, or a good understanding of, SEND and strategies to support pupils both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Have an understanding of Read Write Inc. (RWI) Phonics, which would be beneficial for this role.
This role would suit someone looking to work 0.8 FTE as a Teaching Assistant and who is flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to helping children achieve their full potential.
