What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity is available to support our wonderful pupils with complex additional needs on their individual learning journeys. This role requires a person who is passionate about working with pupils with SEND and who will celebrate the small steps of learning for each child. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our Cognition and Learning provision (KS2 am) and our Communication and Interaction provision (KS1 pm) 35 hours per week.

As a Teaching Assistant in our SEND provisions you will work as part of two teams with lead colleagues for both SEND provisions to ensure that the children in the groups are given the best possible chance at making progress.

You will support children with their small steps of learning under the guidance of the lead and will be confident to provide support when they are emotionally dysregulated.

You will ensure a safe environment for the children.

You will be comfortable in supporting children with their personal care.

You will work with a wide range of colleagues and professionals

There may times where you asked to cover classes across the school or within the SEND provision (this is paid at a higher rate).

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and staff.
  • A commitment to creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience of working with children with complex special educational needs.
  • A keenness to learn and develop but also the confidence to share your own ideas.
