What skills and experience we're looking for
St John the Baptist RC Primary School are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of the journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy Trust.
Supporting the teacher, the successful candidate will:
- Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities.
- Help and set up and tidy away classroom materials and equipment.
- Support the teacher in managing pupil behaviour.
- Provide feedback to the teacher on pupils' progress, behaviour, and any other issues.
- Help with record keeping, displays, and classroom organisation.
Supporting pupils' learning, the successful candidate will:
- Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning and ensure understanding.
- Adapt teaching materials to suit pupils' needs and abilities.
- Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities.
- Encourage pupils to engage in learning activities and stay on track.
- Promote independence and confidence in learning.
We are seeking an individual who:
- Has a recognised qualification such as Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
- Works under the guidance of the class teacher but may take initiative within set frameworks.
- May occasionally supervise a class in short-term teacher absence.
