Teaching Assistant Level 3 job summary
Are you a caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential? Do you have experience supporting children with complex medical or communication needs in a primary school setting? Are you committed to providing outstanding care, encouragement and learning support every day?
We are looking to appoint a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant on a temporary contract until 31st July 2027, beginning on 2nd November 2026 or sooner. The successful 1:1 Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated support for a Year 1 pupil with type 1 diabetes and significant communication needs, working closely with teaching staff, medical professionals and parents to promote learning, independence, wellbeing and full participation in school life.
Main areas of responsibility
In line with the pupil's medical plan, provide medical and pastoral care to support their specific medical condition, including organising, maintaining, and cleaning equipment
Ensure accurate records are kept and shared as required in relation to the pupil’s medical condition, including with parents
In accordance with the TA Level 3 job description, support the pupil’s learning needs under the direction of the class teacher
