As part of Catalyst Academies Trust, apprentices may also have opportunities to train across other trust schools, includingAveley Primary School, Dilkes Academy, Quarry Hill Academy and Somers Heath Primary School.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual who is motivated by making a positive difference to children’s lives and is interested in progressing towards a career in education.

You will work with children aged5–11, supporting learning both in the classroom and in small group orone‑to‑onesituations under the direction of teaching staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting individuals or small groups of pupils

  • Establishing positive relationships with pupils

  • Implementing planned learning activities as directed by the class teacher

  • Supporting pupils with literacy and numeracy activities

  • Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies

  • Supporting the use of ICT in the classroom

  • Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour

  • Maintaining confidentiality at all times

Training and Working Pattern

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard

  • 5 days per week, including1 day at college

  • Duration:21–24 months

Salary

  • Apprentice salary (Year 1): £11,648 per annum
