What skills and experience we're looking for
Support for pupils
- Select appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities, differentiating and adapting learning programmes to suit the needs of allocated pupils
- Assist with the implementation of individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs as agreed with the teacher
- Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
Support for the teacher
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work
- Plan and evaluate specialist learning activities with the teacher, writing reports and records as required
- Select and use strategies, as agreed with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals.
Support for the curriculum
- Support learning by arranging and providing resources for lessons and activities in agreement with the teacher
- Undertake programmes linked to local and national learning strategies e.g., literacy, numeracy, early years recording achievement and progress and feeding back to the teacher
- Support the use of ICT in learning activities and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use

We are searching for a Teaching Assistant Level 3 on a Fixed Term basis until 31.07.2023 to come and join our team here at Pathways Academy. The purpose of this role is to work with teachers to support teaching and learning by providing specialist support to the teacher in an aspect of the curriculum, age range or additional needs. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
Actual Salary - £16,897 - £18,841 - based on a full time equivalent of £21,968 - £24,496
Hours of work will be 32.5 per week for 39 weeks per year
Fixed Term until 31.07.2023
