What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you calm, confident and have the skills to support classroom activities safely? Are you able to create a positive learning environment?

We are seeking to employ a dedicated and compassionate individual to work in a 1:1 role supporting a child with significant additional needs. Previous experience of working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or 1:1 SEN children is desirable, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will use autism-specific strategies to support the child’s individual needs and help implement approaches within the classroom to promote inclusion and participation in all aspects of school life.

We are seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of establishing positive relationships with students empathise with their needs (desirable)
  • Knowledge of SEN (desirable)
  • Maths and English GCSE Grade A- C or equivalent
  • Confident in supervising children during activities indoors and outdoors
  • Patient, calm and relaxed with an enthusiastic approach to learning
