Teaching Assistant - Maternity Cover job summary

We are looking to appoint a flexible and dedicated person to work with our teaching staff under their guidance to undertake a range of work to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils in the classroom or other educational settings, as required. This role involves providing support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities. Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes. We are looking for some of the following qualities and experience: • NVQ2 Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification and/or experience. • Completion or willingness to complete DFE Teacher Assistant Induction Programme • Experience of working with classes or small groups of pupils • Experience of working in a secondary school • Good standard of English & Mathematics at Grade C or above • Ability to apply good behaviour management strategies in the classroom • Patience and resilience • Good understanding of child protection and bullying issues
