Teaching Assistant job summary
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant (level 1) who, working under the direct instruction of our wonderful teaching team and based largelyin the classroom, can support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher. This position would suit a positive, energetic, proactive team-player who is looking to start their career in education or just wants to make a difference!
Responsibilities include:
- Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
- Support pupils to understand instructions
- Support the teacher in managing pupil behaviour
- Prepare classroom as directed for lessons, clear afterwards and assist with the display of pupils’ work
- Be aware of pupil problems/progress/achievements and report to the teacher
