About the Role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role will involve supporting children across the classroom, working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences and ensure all children are fully supported.
Whether you are supporting the whole class, working with small groups, or delivering 1:1 support for children with additional needs, your role will be crucial in helping every child feel safe, happy, and able to achieve their potential.
This is a temporary full time post up until the end of the academic year due to rising pupil numbers.
Key Responsibilities
Grade 3:
- Lead a group of children in our Foundation 1 setting under the direction of the class teacher.
- Provide pastoral care including intimate care as required.
- Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND or additional needs, including supporting individual plans.
- Help deliver structured group activities, adapt resources, and track pupil progress under teacher guidance.
- Support pupils’ emotional and behavioural development to promote inclusion and confidence.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers including during parents evenings and welcome meetings.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions.

Grade 3:
- An experienced and confident individual with a strong understanding of working with children in Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Someone who can adapt learning activities and resources to meet a variety of pupil needs.
- A reflective practitioner who observes, records, and communicates pupil progress clearly.
- A calm and nurturing adult who supports emotional development and helps pupils feel safe and included.
- A reliable team player who can build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Someone who maintains high professional standards and follows safeguarding and behaviour policies effectively.
