About the role

We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience working with children across the primary age range and will bring a trauma‑informed approach to supporting pupils. You will hold high expectations for all children, believing in their potential to thrive and succeed.

Key responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all pupils.
  • Use initiative to respond to the needs of children and the classroom.
  • Assist in adapting curriculum delivery to support engagement and progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing through a trauma‑informed approach.
  • Work closely with colleagues to assess and monitor pupils’ progress, achievements and development, and report these accordingly.
  • Liaise with parents and carers, in conjunction with teaching staff, to ensure effective communication.
  • Ensure school record‑keeping systems are maintained accurately.
  • Participate fully in staff training and professional development opportunities.

  • Has proven experience working with children across the primary range.

  • Understands and applies trauma‑informed practice.
  • Holds high expectations for every child and is ambitious for their success.
  • Works effectively as part of a team, while also showing initiative and independence.
  • Is committed to professional growth and contributing to the wider life of the school.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent, e.g., BTEC National Diploma
