What skills and experience we're looking for

We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant working flexibly across our school and as adult mediated support for children with EHCPs

Would you like to work in a unique, exciting and inspiring school, with curious and creative children and a supportive, enthusiastic staff? Situated in the heart of the City of Cambridge, Park Street Church of England Primary School, with only four, mixed-age classes, is a very individual learning community. We have a ‘family feel’ where everybody knows each other well, enabling us to design learning opportunities to inspire all learners and meet their individual needs. We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant to provide a variety of support in our classes, starting in September.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our team, working flexibly supporting children with EHCPs/other SEND, within small groups and as part of their class, and also working collaboratively in the classroom. You will work with our experienced Assistant Headteacher/SENCo to facilitate the active participation of all children in the academic and social activities of the school and contribute to raising standards of achievement.

This is a level two position, but we would consider candidates committed to developing into the role.

Hours of work are 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, term-time plus professional days.

We are seeking to make a full-time appointment; however, there is the possibility of this working as ‘job share’, should candidates seeking part-time work apply.

The successful candidates will:

  • Be enthusiastic, dedicated and well-organised professionals, with a desire to make a difference to children’s learning
  • Able to work flexibly, taking initiative in supporting children of all abilities
  • Have a commitment to their own professional development
  • Be qualified to level 2, or willing to work towards this
  • Be qualified to at least GCSE level or equivalent in English and maths
  • Have high expectations for pupils’ behaviour and attitude to learning
  • Be able to work well as part of a strong team and contribute to the school community
  • Be supportive of the ethos and values of a Church School
