The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience of working with children with special educational needs, particularly behavioural needs
  • Enthusiasm, warmth and positivity about their role in education and contribution to our whole school community
  • A commitment to supporting, motivating, and challenging the learning of the child with whom you work
  • Strong collaborative skills when working within the year group on establishing an appropriate learning environment that meets the needs of the pupil
  • The ability to work effectively, flexibly, and independently
  • Initiative and creativity in different learning situations
  • A passion for children’s learning and wellbeing
  • Support for the ethos of a Church school.
  • An understanding of the importance of Child Protection and a commitment to the safeguarding of children’s welfare- both at home and in school

The Edward Betham CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community, where you will work within an experienced teaching team who value hard work, respect and open communication. We are a high-achieving two-form entry school, graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2024 and ‘Excellent’ by SIAMS in 2022.

The hours of work in this post are 23.75 hours a week, term time only, from September 2024. The role is to work 1:1 with a child in Year 2, for the Autumn term in the first instance. This will be reviewed mid-way through the Autumn term.

Edward Betham School is a two-form entry Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School maintained by the London Borough of Ealing. We currently have 424 pupils on roll (including 35 Nursery places). The school is located on a split-site in Oldfield Lane South on the south side of the Western Avenue (A40) within a short walking distance of a number of bus and underground routes.
