What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant Personal Care. This is an exciting opportunity to join GLT / Brakenhale and become an integral member of the team. We are an 11 to 18 school situated on the southern side of Bracknell town centre. Main responsibilities:
• To provide in-class support for identified individual student
• Under the direction of the class teacher, to assist in the management of the student through the overt modelling of effective practices to accelerate the student’s progress
• Under the direction of the SENCO, to assist with the physical well-being of the student
• To be familiar with the student’s care plan and provide care, encouragement and maintain dignity
• To provide support, to include personal care, for the student experiencing physical or medical difficulties
• To assist in the supervision of the student during break and lunchtimes

You will need:
● At least five GCSEs or equivalent, which must include at least a Grade C/4 or equivalent in Maths and English.
● Minimum Level 3 vocational training / qualification in the care, development and education of children, or relevant and equivalent experience
● Evidence of personal commitment to CPD
● Previous experience of working with children in an educational setting
● Experience of supporting SEN students in a mainstream classroom environment
● Commitment to high standards and expectations
● Commitment to working within the School’s Safeguarding Policy and Procedures
