About Our Primary School
Polperro Primary Academy is a happy and thriving School for children aged 2 to 11. We currently have 102 children on roll across four classes and our pre-school nursery, and provide a seamless transition between nursery and primary school. In addition to our creative and well-qualified teaching staff, we have excellent teaching assistants who work across the school supporting and enhancing children’s learning. All of these staff are dedicated to providing pupils with quality learning opportunities and take immense pride in their work and in doing the best job they can to support the school.

Role overview
Polperro Primary Academy is looking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team.
The role involves working five mornings and four afternoons each week within our Year 2/3 class, providing both SEN support and general classroom support. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, builds positive relationships and is keen to help every child achieve their best.
The successful candidate will be flexible, caring and able to work well as part of a team, contributing to the positive and inclusive environment that we strive to create at Polperro Primary Academy.
There is also the opportunity to undertake lunchtime supervision duties, adding a further 2.5 hours per week to the role.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing within a welcoming school community.
Contract type: Permanent
Contract terms: Part time
Working weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time only)
Paid weeks: 43.699 per year (includes holiday entitlement)
Working Days: Monday - Friday
Shift Times: This position is 5 mornings and 4 afternoons a week. There is the option of lunchtime cover available (2.5 hours per day)
Total Hours per week: 26.5
Payscale: Bridge 2
Full Time Equivalent (FTE) salary: £25,948.96
Actual Salary: £15,575.41

About this Role - As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in:
- Supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the classroom.
- Providing targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs/Disabilities (SEND) as required.
- Using ‘Read Write Inc’ and other systematic phonics programmes to help children learn to read, write, and spell fluently and confidently.
- Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team to create a calm, positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
