We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:2 basis with higher needs KS2 children from September 2025. We are seeking to appoint a creative, committed and enthusiastic person to work as part of our team here at Trowse School. This is a very exciting opportunity to join an outstanding Local Authority maintained school, in a lovely school building.

Interviews will be conducted in agreement with latest guidance at the time of interview. Hours of work, 11.5 hours per week over 2 days per week (Thursday and Friday), 8.30am–12.15 and 1.15pm–3.15pm.

We realise that getting the right person to join our team is really important, no two days are ever the same and you will need to be busy and adaptable. Ideally, you will also have the following skills and attributes :

  • a passion for working with young children, showing them respect and kindness to foster their all-round development;
  • experience of working with primary age children;
  • knowledge of the national curriculum
  • an understanding of the teaching of phonics;
  • possess good personal literacy, numeracy and ICT skills;
  • you are flexible, calm and enjoys working as part of a strong team;
  • you have the interpersonal skills to develop positive and supportive relationships with all;
  • you have the ability to use their own initiative to support learning needs of children;
  • you need a sense of humour and lots of energy!
