What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Assist teachers, and other relevant staff in supporting pupils with social communication and interaction difficulties, associated speech, language and communication difficulties and high levels of anxiety and/or associated challenging and distressed behaviour to make excellent progress
  • Supervise and support targeted pupils both individually, groups and as a class.
  • Help pupils achieve learning and behaviour targets as specified in Individual Programmes.
  • Liaise closely with parents/carers and other professionals and to develop effective partnerships in the interests of the child/young person.

We are always looking for awesome people to join our team, and right now are looking for Teaching Assistant/Mentors. You will make a difference to children with social, emotional and mental health needs and give them the opportunities they deserve is a job like no other.

Emma has struggled to attend school for years. Thanks to her Mentor, Emma developed ways of learning and emotional regulation, helping her to keep up with and exceed her peers. Emma is thriving right now, loving her Apprenticeship and positively engaging in her work experience with a local employer.

Learning can look different for everyone; learning is continuous and enabled by the broad curriculum, therapeutic interventions, and the environment the school and staffing team create. It’s only through your awesome support that we will create that environment together to ensure the pupils progress towards a happy life that they can enjoy.

If successfully shortlisted the HR Department will also be conducting an individual online search including social media platforms of your ‘name, education and employment’, to demonstrate due diligence following the updated ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022' guidance.
