What skills and experience we're looking for
We and are looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for children and supporting them in their development;
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and are able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;
- Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
- Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;
- Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
- Is a strong team player, who can use their own initiative;
- Has a positive and flexible attitude;
- Has a current First Aid or is prepared to undertake training;
- Has experience working with children with SEND (advantageous).

The Avenue Primary School and Children’s Centre is looking for a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its friendly team and provide support to pupils in its Resource Base.
We are a vibrant co-educational, non-denominational primary school, educating children between the ages of 3 and 11. We take the success of every child very personally and offer a wide range of opportunities to help them develop as confident members of our school community. In January 2023, we were proud to have retained our ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and were praised for being a fully inclusive school where everyone is respected and treated fairly. We are part of the Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to collaborate and improve local education.
As a Teaching Assistant, you must be able to work across all age ranges and be prepared to work flexibly to support children of all abilities, including those requiring SEND support, so SEND experience would be advantageous. You will work with our dedicated Resource Base team to support pupils in their learning and will make a real difference to their school lives.
