What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Support Team for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team-orientated school graded as ‘Good’ in all categories (Ofsted March 2024). The vacancy is on a part-time, term time only basis working 30 hours per week, starting in November 2026.

The ideal candidate would be an effective role model that sets high expectations and motivates the pupils to achieve. Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working with SEMH may be an advantage. Your work will be divided between working with students in small groups in the department and in the wider school supporting students in their lessons in order that they are able to access the learning.

The successful applicant will be a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who is able to make the significant contribution required to secure the very best outcomes for SEND students at The Bicester School. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all the students in our care and expect all applicants to share this commitment.

What the school offers its staff

At The Bicester School we pride ourselves on having successfully created an ethos that is nurturing, but challenging, and fully inclusive to all staff and students. We are fortunate to be located in a rural part of North Oxfordshire with excellent transport links.

Employee Benefits include:

ALET employees have the opportunity to become members of a highly competitive pension scheme. This is the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for business support staff and Teachers Pension Scheme (TPS) for teaching staff.

  • We are committed to staff wellbeing. As such our Trustees have given all staff two wellbeing days per annum, calendared for school-based staff and bookable for the central team.
  • All staff have access to a comprehensive e-learning portal with various CPD courses including safeguarding and role-specific training.
  • All staff have access to a 24/7/365 confidential Employee Assistance Programme with access to specialist telephone counselling.
