Teaching Assistant SEN job summary

  • Contract: Fixed term until 31st August 2025
  • 38 weeks per year based around term times
  • Hours: 27.5hrs (Special Needs Assistant) per week with some roles requiring +3.75hrs a week – Lunchtime Support as a Supervisory Assistant – This will be 8.45am to 3.15pm
  • Holidays: equivalent 14 weeks per academic year

To support us to achieve our ongoing goals and the very best for our children, we are now seeking a Special Needs Assistant to join our team to work 1:1 with a pupil with special educational needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • will work 1:1 with a pupil with special educational needs, supporting the class teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment for the child and their specific needs
  • will promote the inclusion and acceptance for all pupils within the setting, to enable every child to achieve to their potential
  • can encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
  • may be required to support their 1:1 pupil and others to engage in a healthy, happy lunchtime period.
