Teaching Assistant (SEN) job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team here at Tredworth Infant & Nursery Academy.
We are looking to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a Year R child. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has an interest in working with a child with special educational needs on a one to one basis.
You will need to be caring, enthusiastic and flexible with the ability to work under the direction of the class teacher and on your own imitative. The core purpose is to support the child’s learning and have high expectations of their behaviour by applying the behaviour policy, consequences, and rewards effectively. Commitment to being part of a team and a willingness to learn from others and share good practice are essential.
This temporary position is directly linked to Higher Needs funding. The post is term time only plus inset days and will include lunchtime supervision of our pupils. The weekly working pattern is,
Monday to Friday 8.45am-3.15pm (includes a daily unpaid lunchbreak of 30 minutes)
The successful candidate will have had experience of working in a school/educational setting and/or experience of supporting a child with special educational needs either professionally or in a caring capacity.

This underpins our new curriculum which aims to teach our children the life skills they need, including Social awareness, Mental health and wellbeing, English and Maths, We have tried to ensure it is representative of our children and community and builds on where the children are and what they know, while being aspirational and introducing them to wider experiences, preparing them for life in the future.
