Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated 1:1 TA based at Derwent Primary School

Fixed-term position until 18th July 2025

Part time contract Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm-3.30pm (10.5 hours a week)

Level 2A point 3 (£23,656 per annum, pro-rata)

Applications are welcomed from current and newly trained teaching assistants

Person Specification

Some recent experience with managing the range of additional needs of SEN pupils

Demonstrated enthusiasm and empathy in providing for children with additional needs in mainstream education

A keenness to work closely with colleagues in a nurturing SEN provision on a mainstream school site

Recent experience in working in the primary classroom

Some knowledge of phonics

Good knowledge of parent and report feedback including liaising with SLT and the SENCO

Willing to reflect and work on feedback on observations of practice from the SENCO
