Our school is looking to appoint an excellent practitioner who has a real understanding and passion for supporting children with SEND.
You will be working within our Specialist Resource Base (SRB) for children with ‘Learning and Cognition’ needs. The SRB is a 20-place Local Authority provision for Key Stage 1 + 2 children, who join us from local schools, for a period of 2 terms. The children attend four days a week (Mon to Thurs) including 8.30am start and 30min daily lunch duty.
We are looking for someone who:
- can effectively support the SRB teachers to achieve and maintain high standards of care and education;
- has a good understanding of how to motivate children to engage in their learning;
- has a range of strategies to promote excellent behaviour;
- is determined to identify what helps a child learn, overcoming barriers along the way;
- has excellent communication skills;
- is creative and have a willingness to offer new ideas;
- is calm, supportive, approachable to children, parents and staff;
- is committed to working as a member of a team, and contributing to whole school development and the wider life of the school
