The Directors of St Francis and St Clare Catholic Multi Academy Company are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary Academy & Nursery.

You will be joining a well resourced and supportive Academy Community that was recently awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools. In April 2024 a Catholic Schools Inspectorate report said that within staffing, ‘There is an embedded culture of ‘being there for each other’. The most recent Ofsted report draws attention to our ‘committed team with a shared vision for the school’ and a ‘happy, harmonious community, where all feel valued’.

We are looking for someone who can support learning on a 1:1 basis, initially in Reception and Year 2. Training/experience in Makaton would be an advantage but is not essential.

The appointed candidate will be experienced in supporting learning in a primary school setting, join our happy and forward-thinking academy and become part of our dedicated team to:

  • Work under the direction and guidance of teaching / senior staff in supporting pupils working across the academy, to ensure they make excellent progress.

  • Contribute to the strong Catholic ethos of our academy.

  • Meet pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural needs as well as their pastoral and welfare needs. This includes working closely with staff, parents and outside agencies where necessary to promote effective safeguarding of all children.

  • Develop good relationships with pupils, staff, parents, representatives, directors and primary MAC partners.

As part of our strong commitment to safeguarding means this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023 (KCSIE) online searches will be undertaken for prospective shortlisted candidates.

We encourage you to visit our academy and please take a look on http://www.sspeterandpaul.co.uk You can also telephone the St Francis and St Clare Catholic MAC recruitment line 01902 558709).

Closing Date: Wednesday 3rd July 2024 noon. (We are keen to receive early applications. We reserve the right to close advertised vacancies earlier than the published deadline, should the need arise).
