Teaching Assistant job summary

St Cross Catholic Primary School are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and welcoming team in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils by supporting teaching and learning within the classroom.

Working closely with class teachers and other staff, you will provide targeted support to individuals and groups of pupils, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will be patient, adaptable and committed to promoting children's learning, behaviour, wellbeing and independence.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with primary-aged children (desirable).
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Shares our commitment to high expectations and inclusive education.
