Teaching Assistant job summary

We wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join us here at St Leonard's Church of England Primary Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our team and provide excellent care and education for our pupils.

The successful candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for working with children, be creative, dedicated and have a positive attitude to joining a forward-thinking school.

You must be able to demonstrate that you can build excellent relationships, want to make a difference to all children and have excellent communication and organisational skills.

Your role will include contributing to the delivery and monitoring of interventions for individuals and small groups, supporting assessments and evidencing learning, working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources plus building positive relationships with the children by being an approachable, caring and supportive role model.

You will also be expected to undertake MDSA duties each day, supervising children while they eat lunch and also when they play outside.

Your expected hours of work each week will be 8.30am-1pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am-12.40pm on Friday. This will be a fixed term role until July 2026.
